History of Dardenne Prairie, MO

Dardenne Prairie was named for the Daredenne family, early settlers in the Mississippi Valley. The many natural springs that can be found in the area made Dardenne Prairie an ideal place to settle. Though some Spanish land grants are dated as early as 1799, the area did not become more widely settled until after the Civil War.
